REGISTER FOR GIFT AID

Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows us to reclaim the basic rate tax you pay as a UK taxpayer. It means that we can claim 25p of tax for every £1 you donate at no extra cost to you.

All you need to do is make a Gift Aid declaration.

gift Aid It.png

I am a UK taxpayer and I would like any donation I make in the future and have made in the past 4 years to be treated as Gift Aid donations, until I notify you otherwise.

I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference.

Please let us know if your tax circumstances or name and address details change so we can amend our records. Please email: finance@helpinghoundshampshire.com

Thank you for signing up for Gift Aid, it means that at no further cost, you can help us to keep our kennels open, our van running, our insurances up to date, and enable us to keep rescuing dogs in need.

MEET SOME OF THE DOGS AVAILABLE TO ADOPT

These are just 3 of our gorgeous dogs who are looking for a home to call their own. You can see ALL the dogs available for adoption here

Adopters are required to complete an application form, and have a successful home visit by the rescue prior to meeting a dog.

Our adoption donation is £495 and helps us cover the spay/neuter and rescue of another dog.

Rauffles

Male

4 years

Age:

Rauffles is a male kokoni cross. He's cat- and child-friendly and loves to run and play with other dogs.

Amber

Female

2.5 years

Age:

Meet AMBER, a lovely Labrador (pure breed we think) who is ready for her forever home. Just a month ago, Amber was roaming at a beach car park in Paphos where she had been dumped but thanks to dedicated volunteers, she’s now safe and thriving and ready for her very own family. Amber would flourish in a home where she can receive plenty of love, exercise, and stimulation. While she gets along well with both men and women, children in the home should be 10 years or older due to her energetic nature. She really craves human attention and loves nothing more than cuddling up to her human. While she gets on with other dogs we do think she would love to have her humans to herself too.

Rosie

Female

20 Months

Age:

Beautiful Rosie joins the Helping Hounds family on the 26th October. She was found wandering alone with no collar or microchip in Cyprus. She was taken to the local municipality pound where she was so terrified that she hid in a tiny sleep box. Rosie is a mixed breed, weighs 14kgs, is Spayed, fully vaccinated and has negative results for all relevant blood tests including Leishmania and Canine Brucella. Rosie is in foster in Cyprus with lots of different dogs who she gets along with. She is beautiful natured and has grown in confidence but can be a little timid when meeting new people. Rosie loves to play so would benefit from having a dog companion. If you have the time to give to help Rosie continue to grow in confidence then she will pay you back with bags of love, affection and kisses!
But before you go...

If you've made the decision to add a canine companion to your family, but haven't fallen in love with the dogs we currently have here, don't give up on us! We get dogs coming through all the time, and rehome for local stray dog kennels too. Many of these dogs get snapped up before we even have a chance to put them on our website.

How? Well... they've completed our adoption application form and instead of putting the name of one of our current dogs, they've said "Any" and tell us about the sort of dog that would fit in well with their family. When the potentially perfect dog comes into our care, we call them first, before promoting the dog elsewhere.

These are some of the dogs we've recently rehomed in this way:

So if you're prepared to wait for the ideal dog, click the button below to get the ball rolling. We'll process your application. Our homing manager will call you to have a chat about your application and then arrange a home visit. This is so that the rescue is able to determine that we're all in agreement about the dog that will best suit your family, your lifestyle and your activity levels.

CAN YOU BECOME A FOSTER HERO?

Council stray dog kennels can hold a dog for 7 days, during which time they make best efforts to trace owners if the dog is microchipped or wearing a tagged collar. If unclaimed, they need to find them a rescue, because council facilities are inundated and simply don't have the space for them.

We want to help home as many of these dogs as possible, but we also have limited space in our kennels, so we need fosters to provide love and support in their homes, giving these dogs a chance at adoption, and helping them transition more successfully when their forever homes are found.

  • We will provide full support, and cover any veterinary and medication costs.

  • We will lend you dog beds, bowls, leads, harnesses and a crate if needed

  • We can also provide food if required, but many fosters prefer to cover this themselves, rather than have to collect from our kennels.

If you have time and space, please think about fostering. It’s a huge help to rescue centres that are flooded with dogs, some of which have never been left in kennels and are simply there because their owners are sick, or can’t keep them. Kennels are not fun places. They are cold and bewildering. But the alternative is worse. And as soon as one dog is rehomed there’s another 20 desperately needing the kennel space. Fostering is so rewarding, a lot of work but you get so much back and you’ll be helping a dog find its way to a new life. And rescued is the best breed!

FOSTER FOR US

foster for us

Fostering  is such a rewarding experience. We need foster homes for dogs that don't adapt well to kennels, and those that need to be brought along in an experienced home to get them ready for adoption.
